 Our passion for the cribs stands for the willingness to let everyone know about the art of Neapolitan crib of eighteenth-century.
Walking through the streets of the historic center of Naples, and particularly in Via San Gregorio Armeno, the famous street of the artisans of cribs, famous throughout the world for the many shops devoted to the cribs art, you comes immersed in an amazing and incredible atmosphere of art, culture and traditions unique.
Our production of shepherds and cribs nativity narrates a piece of history of this art to be discovered.
Our masterpieces are objects of great events, we remember in particular the one in which we donated to Pope John Paul II an our work; in fact, during the visit of the Pope in Naples the mayor of Naples delivered to the Pope our work depicting the scourging of Christ.

Arte Presepiale a Napoli
La semplice tradizione presepiale sembra avere origine da un tempio dedicato a Cerere, alla quale i cittadini offrivano come ex voto delle piccole statuine di terracotta, fabbricate in botteghe.
Il presepe napoletano e con esso l'arte presepiale, si sviluppano a Napoli a partire dalla fine del Settecento.
In questo periodo, fioriscono le collaborazioni tra artisti eminenti per la preparazione della Sacra famiglia e dei pastori e che portarono alla nascita della famosa scuola di Capodimonte: il presepe si aggiornò con nuovi stili, diventando arte.

Via San Gregorio Armeno è una strada del centro storico di Napoli, celebre turisticamente per le botteghe artigiane di presepi.
La strada è antichissima e risale alla dominazione romana. Fungeva all'epoca da collegamento di due decumani, il Decumano Medio (attuale via dei Tribunali) e il Decumano Inferiore (odierna via San Biagio dei Librai), congiunti perpendicolarmente proprio da questa strada. |
